My owner is a little busy nowadays that's why he wasn't able to share some stories to me that i can share with you. However, I heard an interesting story about this little girl while he was talking to his friend, Marianne. The little girl is named Hannah Danielle. I got a picture online that I want to share with you:
Isn't she adorable? :)
Hannah Danielle delos Reyes Ompangco, 4 years old from Teresa, Rizal, was diagnosed with Pineal Germinoma (Brain Cancer) June 2009. She was advised to undergo Chemotherapy Treatment. The families source of income is very insufficient and they can't afford to meet the expenses needed for their daughter's treatment.
She was confined due to vomitting and deviation of eyes. She undergoes CT Scan, confined for 8 days at St. Lukes Medical Center and after series of examination results showed that she has Germinoma VS Choroid Plexus Pappiloma. The child underwent Leksell Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery, a definitive treatment of Germinoma.
The child was again examined and diagnosed to have Pineal Germinoma and again referred to St. Lukes Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncologyfor external beam Radiation Therapy.
The child had already underwent seventeen (17) sessions of radiation therapy to the whole brain and spine using conventional treatment and fourteen (14) sessions of Posterior Fossa Boost using Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy.
After all of the above procedure has been done and completed, the child will have to undergo Chemotherapy.
Hannah's family admits that they already run out of their source of financial resources as brought by continuous medication and treatment.
