DOGS BARK: for the uninvolved ones

I still remember when I was a little boy,
My dad gave me this little dog that's so coy.
It wagged its tail and licked me in the face.
I was so happy and named it Boniface.

We played all day in this safe place,
Where butterflies meet and parasites I chase.
A man came in who seemed to have been thrown with stones.
Boniface stopped then ran after the man's bones.

Dogs bark at strangers they see.
Dogs bark when they don't like what they see.
Dogs bark at you then you'll feel lonely.
Yes, they are dumb, barking at the wrong tree.

We grew together Boniface and I.
We loved each other by the looks from his eyes.
When I come home from school he gives me a lick.
When it's a holiday I give him a treat.

Summer came and mom gave me a gift.
It was a cat so special would you even believe?
Boniface barked and ran after her bones.
I grabbed her quickly and named her Mariolle.

Boniface barked, he doesn't know what to do.
He looked so furious and barked at me too.
"A stranger" he thought, I was with Mariolle.
He barked at me again and ran after my bones.

Dogs bark when they don't know who they see.
Dogs bark, throw stones at them then they'll flee.
Dogs bark at you when they're hungry.
Yes, they are dumb, we are the masters, they'll see.
